Hollow Face of Straw (dream / a poem, 2018)

Hollow Face of Straw

(dream / a poem)

We burned it all, the golden straw,

A city of wicker and flame.

All men they fell down to the earth,

Ash having lost its name.

~

With a lone curse descended,

His toes turned claw and fin.

A life ashore is ended,

Amongst the murk therein.

~

In reeds, the sea he sleeps,

Waits for the moon again.

For time where his beloved calls,

They dance along the sand.

~

Beneath lost sailors waste,

Tread with no land in sight.

 Ower’kah makes haste,

To take them to the night.
