Unrequited (a poem)

Unrequited

(a poem)

My heart is always aching,

Yearning for you.

Why do you keep me in jealousy?

Why do you hurt me?

When I crave you,

More than anything.

Cherish you,

More than anything.

Your happiness means everything.

I would stand aside,

I would rather you smile.

Don’t look at me with those eyes.

Don’t reject me,

Don’t see me.

I would rather you smile,

You’re much prettier when you smile.
